Korean idol group SS501 is set to give a concert in Seoul next month, according to their agency DSP Media on Monday.

The boy band will be performing at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium on February 27 and 28, as an encore gig of their Asian tour "PERSONA".

"It is an encore performance but we will edit the repertoire so that it will be like a brand new show," the agency was quoted as saying.

The concert will also feature individual performances by the five members as in their previous concerts. Last year, the group's leader Kim Hyun-joong earned the nickname "rip-joong" after he ripped off a sleeve during a dance routine in his individual performance. Another member Park Jung-min has sung the theme to the film "Comrades: Almost a Love Story" and a hit song by Leslie Cheung at concerts in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

SS501 debuted in 2005 with single "Warning" and have been active in Korea and Japan, releasing numerous albums both as a group and also pursuing individual careers such as acting and appearing in variety shows.

The group made a successful comeback to the music scene last October, topping various music charts with their second mini-album "REBIRTH".

Idol group SS501’s Kim HyungJoon threw away his mic and held a mouse instead.

MBC Game has a newly planned program for the new year 2010, ‘SS501 HyungJoon, To Be a Pro-Gamer’ which premiers at end of January.

This program, as Kim HyungJoon said, is “a new step into a new field”, a real variety program that shows the preparation and hard work to become a professional gamer, and the competition with gamers from MBC Game HERO. In this program, Kim HyungJoon will be challenging to become a gamer.

Kim HyungJoon started his first filming last week at Yeoido MBC Game Studio and completed his game test. After which, he will be under the guidance of director Ha TaeKi of MBC Game HERO, learning all there is of a professional gamer, it is said that director Ha TaeKi had Kim HyungJoon undertake a stringent test at a practice room.

In the first filming, Kim HyungJoon had an exciting battle with former pro-gamer, currently a commentator, Han SeungYeop. Lee SeungWon, Lim SungChoon, Yoo ByungJoon and professional gamer Seo KyungJong, attended to this event and observed carefully over Kim HyungJoon’s play and analyzed his weaknesses, and giving straight to point solutions.

Kim HyungJoon expressed “Besides being known as SS501’s magnae, I want to earn another nickname for myself now. It is more than a simple interest, I will treat it seriously as a profession. I will work hard on it.”

There have been lots of inquiries since yesterday evening from on and on off-line regarding Kim Hyun Joong’s article. We think at least the TripleS should know the exact circumstance of Kim Hyun Joong’s attendance at the place where the article mentioned.

The circumstance is as follows

January 18th was president Lee Ho Yeon’s birthday.
This evening, except for Jung Min, who was scheduled for filming Life Story 2010,
Hyun Joong, Gyu Jong, Young Saeng, Hyung Jun were scheduled for a dinner.

Previous to the dinner schedule, Hyun Joong was pre-scheduled for a meeting regarding a separate matter and after that he accompanied president Lee to the reserved place for dinner,
but on the way president Lee was contacted and had to stop by this place (Chun Doo Hwan’s birthday party) before moving on.

It was simply coincidental without prior intention or plan, and to be criticized for this,

A new member Lee KiSeop was added in 2009 and U-Kiss released a mini album ‘ManManHaNi’, recently DongHo and other members are also involved in other variety programs. Girl group Rainbow, currently promoting their first mini-album “Gossip Girl” with the track “Not Your Girl,” had a few things to say about SS501.

The girls revealed on an interview with Arirang that they had originally had a different name for the group, but Kyu Jong from SS501 thought the old name was t
difficult and suggested that the group be named Rainbow.

The song ‘U R Man’ expresses a man’s feelings about not being able to forget and missed the girl who left him, ‘Not Your Girl’ is a song that sings about a girl who has no choice but to leave the guy. 'Human Theatre' which gain high popularity in the 1990s will start broadcasting again.

MBC Every1 revealed on 11 January, "Starting to broadcast from 20 January, SS501 Park Jung Min as the lead actor and Lee Oe Su as the story teller, this new series of 'Human Theatre 2" is a short TV show which is more entertaining!"

The program style will be similar as previous. Starting the program by briefly explaining the theme of the day and the problem/obstacles that the lead actor is facing. The lead actor would be placed under a choice of path, then he would made a big decision and said: "Ok! I would settle for this!" After this, an 180 degree changes to his life events will happen.

The production team expressed that in the previous 'Human Theatre', the lead actor need to perform some serious and heavy decision. Whereas in the 2010 edition, more interesting and detail topics which would get empathise from the public.

From 1992 - 1997, as MBC 'Sunday Night' major section, 'Life Theatre' received very high viewership, it had also turned Lee Hwi Jae into a youth idol.

MBC 'Human Theatre 2' will be aired at 12am, 20 January.

In this final round, SS501’s mini album ‘REBIRTH’ with title song ‘Love Like This’ will compete against Big Bang’s 2009 Concert Live Album ‘Big Show’. The winner among the 2 groups will become the ‘Best Male Idol Star’.

Kim Hyun Joong's personal charm definitely not lost to his beauty. How attractive is his charm? Regarding this question, his answer was very frank.

[Hyun Joong]: I think I don't have any special charm. As for the charm, must be my frank speech. However, this seems to be my bad points also. Although I am an artist but I am also a singer, so I must maintain a certain secrecy, but seems like I have nothing that is secretive. Actually I wish I could communicate with everybody naturally just like friends. This is what I have looking forward to. I hope my fans would be able to form their own family, same for me too, in future, we could have the feelings of going out together.

So actually we can said Hyun Joong's charm is his optimism. For example when the MC asked as an idol singer, how do you manage your personal image? which do you need to pay extra attention? He gave the answer naturally.

[Hyun Joong]: I think idol singer's image..... I didn't really give a special management or think in this line of thought. I just don't want to give others bad influence and also don't want to influence other, just want to live naturally.

Also Hyun Joong do not mind that he is a well known figure, when he dressed, he will choose costumes which are natural.

[Hyun Joong]: Before debut I was very concerned of my appearance, always went to buy a lot of clothes, also will use boots to match. But now already don't think of all these. Now I like to wear sandals, short pants and also loose clothes and cap. That is the most comfortable.

[MC]: According to what you say, what you wear is what normally people will wear.

[Hyun Joong]: Should not be normal people. I looked more like the ajussi (uncle) that sell ice cream in the community.

SCRAP BOOK/LETTERS

I figured since there are so few of us, why not do a small scrap book? I've always wanted to do that!! I think I'll have the time to do it since I'm on break from school! And It will be way after the holidays! =)

Scrapbook will have inside:

-Table of contents: This will show Kyu who's page is who's.
-Letters: You can either write it in your own language or English. If you write it in --your own language, please provide me with the translation. I'd love for these to be translated into Korean, but we'll see. =)
-Pictures: What's a scrapbook without pictures? LoL

No bigger than 8.5 x 11 letter size.
No more than 3-4 pages long.
Please provide a picture of yourself.

A picture of a special place in your country that means something to you. Tell Kyu why this means something to you.

A picture of your countries flag. I am going to place this in the front of the photobook.

Also, if you can, send some kind of cloth or item from your country.Tell Kyu what kind of cloth it is from your country. OR even a dry flower or whatever. Just be creative! Remember this is kind of like a scrap book.

In order to celebrate Christmas, SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong suggested play Sudden Attack online game together with his fans, giving them a special Christmas gift.

On 25 December, Christmas Day, Kim Hyun Joong left a message on the official site. "Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. I spend the Christmas together with Young Saeng, it was very fun." The message made his fans very happy.

After that, Kim Hyun Joong responded with comments and chat with fans in the DSP TOK live chatroom. During the chat, he suggested to his fans "Lets play the Sudden Attack.", and directly went to setup his own game room and revealed his password to welcome his fans to join in the game.

Kim Hyun Joong used 'Samjangbeopsa and Mangaji*' nickname to play together with 15 fans. They play on 8 - 8 for a bombing mission. In the game, Kim Hyun Joong had friendly conversation with his fans, totally show his 'next door boy' style. During the game, from time to time, he will exchange team to play with different fans.
